4 day tour

During this trip you will, like the three-day tour, see much of the beautiful Morocco. The camel trek and overnight in the desert are ofcourse also on the program. The journey has an extra day and you will then visit various traditional Moroccan towns, including Rissani with the local donkey market.

Day 1: Marrakech –  Ait Ben haddou – Dadèsgorg

From Marrakech we drive to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert. The route winds through beautiful scenery and Berber villages via the Tizi-’n-Tichka pass over the High Atlas Mountains. It is the highest road in Morocco, of which the pass is the highest point, 2260 m high. We visit the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, included in the Unesco World Heritage list and still the home of many Glauoi relatives. Possibility for lunch in the Kasbah and after lunch we continue our trip towards de Dadèsgorge. We drive via Ouarzazate, also known as ‘the Hollywood of Africa’ following the ‘road of the thousand Kasbahs’ before we stop at  Kalaat M’Gouna, called the ‘city of roses’, known by  its many Rose nurseries and the annual festival during the Rose harvest in May. Eventually, we will arrive at our hotel/riad in the heart of the Dadèsgorge. Overnight and diner in the hotel/riad

Day 2: Dadèsgorge – Todragorge – Merzouga

After breakfast at the hotel, we drive back through the valley to the amazing rock formation the ‘Monkey Toes’ and the remaining 19th-century Kasbah of Ait Yul. As we leave the valley towards Tinghir and the Todra valley we see panoramic views of old Berber villages, wich overlook the valley. Arriving at the Todra gorge you walk under the 300 meter high red rock, where many rock climbers come to practice their favourite sport. We will continue our route direction Erfoud and drive through the desert where your camel awaits you. You will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea and a scarf for the desert camel ride through the mysterious sea of sand of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Of course, you are in all this accompanied by an experienced camel guide. Here you will spend your night under the stars, or if you prefer, in a traditional Berber nomad tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate

After breakfast you leave for a peaceful camel ride back to the auberge, while enjoying the unique beauty of the spectacular dunes of Erg Chebbi – constantly changing with the light as the day progresses. Late in the morning you are back in the auberge and after a shower we will leave for Rissani – once Sijilmassa – and the fundament of the Alaouite dynasty, the current ruling family. This is a very traditional Moroccan city, where most women are veilid and men wearing hoods. We will continue towards Agdez, via Alnif and Tazarine, before we arrive at the fascinating Draa valley and our Kasbah/Riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After a luxurous breakfast, we start our journey back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. We enjoy the panoramic views and lunar landscapes which are in contrast with the Berber villages and the Saghro Mountains, an area that was a popular backdrop for several Hollywood films, including Jewel of the Nile. Our journey continous over the Tizi ‘n’Tichka pass ( 2260 m ) and the High Atlas. In the evening we reach Marrakech where your tour ends.
