4-days tour Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech –  Ait Ben haddou – Dadès gorge

The first day of your 4-days tour from Marrakech we start driving to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert. On the way you see a beautiful scenery and Berber villages. Our route goes over the Tizi-’n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. It is the highest road in Morocco, of which the pass is the highest point, 2260 m high. We visit the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. It is the largest Kasbah in Morocco, included in the Unesco World Heritage list.  Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou is still the home of some Glauoi relatives. There will be a possibility for  a lunch in the Kasbah before we continue our trip towards de Dates gorge. We drive via Ouarzazate, also known as ‘the Hollywood of Africa’ following the ‘road of the thousand Kasbahs’. We drive through Kalaat M’Gouna, the ‘city of roses’. It is known by its many Rose nurseries and the Rose  festival during the Rose harvest in May. Eventually, we will arrive at our hotel/riad in the heart of the Dadès gorge. Overnight and diner in the hotel/riad in the middle of the gorge.

Day 2: Dates Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga

After breakfast at the hotel, we drive back through Dates gorge and see the amazing rock formation the ‘Monkey Toes’ and the remaining 19th-century Kasbah of Ait Yul. As we leave the valley towards Tinghir and the Todra Gorge you will enjoy seeing panoramic views of old Berber villages, wich overlook the valley. Arriving at the Todra gorge you walk under the 300 meter high red rock, where many rock climbers come to practice their favourite sport. We will continue our route direction Erfoud. And there in the desert your camel awaits you for a dromedary tour through the mysterious golden sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi desert. Of course, you are in all this accompanied by an experienced camel guide. After saying goodbye to your guide and camel you will be taken by 4 x 4 towards our Royal Oasis Camp. Here you will have dinner and traditional Berber music around the campfire.  You will spend your night under the stars in a luxury tent with good beds, toilet and shower.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate

After breakfast we leave the beautiful scenery of teh desert heading for Rissani –the fundament of the Alaouite dynasty. This is a very traditional Moroccan city, where most women are veilid and men wearing hoods. We will continue towards Agdez, via Alnif and Tazarine, before we arrive at the fascinating Draa valley and our Kasbah/Riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After a luxurous breakfast, we start our journey back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. We enjoy the panoramic views and lunar landscapes which are in contrast with the Berber villages and the Saghro Mountains. It is an area that was a popular backdrop for several Hollywood films, for example Jewel of the Nile and the Game of Thrones. Our journey continous over the Tizi ‘n’Tichka pass ( 2260 m ) and in the evening we reach Marrakech where your 4-days tour from Marrakech ends.

Our accommodations during our 4-day tour from Marrakech are varied.
During the first night you sleep and dinner in a small-scale local hotel in the Date Gorge.
On day two of the trip you will have dinner and overnight in our luxurious Royal Oasis Camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi desert.
The third night will be in a nice Riad in Ouarzazate.
