Visit the fascinating waterfalls of Ouzoud
Want to escape the hustle and bustle of Marrakech for a day? Then our excursion to the waterfalls of Ouzoud is highly recommended. Located a 3-hours drive from Marrakech are Morocco’s spectacular and most famous waterfalls.
It’s a nice trip to Ouzoud, because we drive through small Berber villages with mud houses. In the meantime, you can enjoy the varied Atlas Mountains. You’ll see green valleys and the gorges of the Al Abid River (Slave River) with canyons sometimes 600 meters deep.
Arriving at the waterfall you can see a network of small waterfalls that crash from 110 meters altitude in the depths. Without a doubt one of Morocco’s most visited attractions. The bottom of the falls is accessed via a shady path surrounden with olive trees. Ouzoud is the Berber word for ‘olive’ and refers to the olive trees present. At the bottom of the falls you can take a swim in the fresh waters of the Al Abid River or just make a toe-dip. But you can also (optionally) take a boat trip and or hike with a local guide.
In the area around the falls lives also the Berber monkey, a kind of tailless monkeys. With any luck you will see these little friends in their natural environment.
Around 18:00 in the afternoon you will be dropped off again at the address of your choice in Marrakech.
