Essaouira day trip

For our day trip to Essaouira you will be picked up at 8:00 am at your accommodation adress in Marrakech. After a drive of about 3 hours we will reach the old harbor of the town. Essaouira, the former Mogador, borders at the Atlantic coast . It is located on a small peninsula in the shape of a half moon, on a wide bay with long sandy beaches and picturesque views. The authentic town has a rich history, that’s why the Medina of Essaouira is on the UNESCO world heritage list.

The city is perfectly protected by impressive fortress walls. From this Skala, the old city wall, you have magnificent view of the sea, Ile de Mogador and the colorful fishing port. You will also see old cannons with inscriptions, giving you a taste of the history of Essaouira.

Essaouira is also famous for its fine handycrafts. It is an important arts and crafts center where wooden objects, including lemon or ebony are inlaid with mother-of-pearl or silver threads. Silver jewelry is also traditionally made and sold.

But a visit to the harbor should certainly not be missed. Here you can see the little blue boats, wich bring the most exotic types of fish ashore. Fish lovers can enjoy a tasty fresh meal in the harbor and the restaurants around.

In the late afternoon we return to Marrakech and you will be dropped off at the adress of your choice.
